2022 Update

Posted on: February 26th, 2022 by boyd

2022 update. We have had an interesting year, Winter went well. Lambing went well until the end of aAugust when we had heavy rain which cost a few lambs. Like the spring two years ago cool and wet weather in September slowed lambs growth which affected weight at weaning on 20th November. Like two years ago the lambs at scanning on 25th January had caught up and many exceeding the weights we got two years ago. We progeny tested four new outcross white dorper rams from Etiwanda stud this season. We are pleased to see two of these rams are very good for worm resistance. We find that it is linked to facial eczema resistance which we are also breeding for. Our top 2021 born ram for worm resistance is also top ram for facial eczema testing on the Ram Guard programme run by Agreseach. He will be used heavily this mating.
